Description: Get outside and enjoy the fresh air while walking dogs in the Ahwatukee area for a few hours each weekday. You'll walk up to 3 dogs at the same time and they will each be from the same house. Leash them up and take them for a walk around the neighborhood for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or as long as an hour depending on the client and time of year. You'll manage house keys and access codes but sometimes the client will be home and able to hand the dogs off to you when you arrive. Maintain positive customer service relations by texting clients photos and updates after each visit. Take quality photos. Pick up after dogs. Be entrepreneurial and use social media like Facebook and Nextdoor to find new clients to add to your schedule.
Qualifications: must be customer-focused; must be willing and eager to communicate with clients and take high-quality photos for them; must love animals and genuinely care about their welfare; must be responsible, professional, and respectful of property and people; must be physically fit and active and able to walk 15 to 20 thousand steps a day (we are looking for people who have a passion for exercise); must possess above-average written and verbal communication skills; must live in or near the Ahwatukee area; must have reliable transportation; must have availability to work from 7am to 11am (or 5am to 9am during hotter months). Also looking for 11am to 3pm availability for our midday potty break clients.
Pay: Ranges from around $18/hour to $25/hr (including driving time). You will be paid 50% of the cost of each service you perform. Services range from $22 for 15-minute visits to up to $65 for 60-minute visits. $100 bonuses for each new regular dog walking client referred. $100 Sign-on bonus if you are already Pet CPR Certified. $200 bonuses after every 6 months of employment. And $50 bonuses every time a client raves about your customer service on Yelp, Google, or social media.
Disclosure: New hires will handle new client overflow and be assigned clients as they come in. Therefore you should not expect to have a full schedule at the start of employment with Burton and Dogs Inc. We may be able to give an early new hire an existing regular client to get you started, but it is best to have another source of income (through a spouse or self-employment, for example) as this part time position will likely not be enough to support you by itself.
